Interesting Take on Sec Now

Dari, Stinchcomb, and Randall Cobb were breaking down the win over VT, and Dari commented how VU teams in the past would have been done as soon as VT took the lead in the 4th quarter. Stinchcomb then pointed out that the team has over 50 new players, including players that came from winning programs like NMST or winning high school programs. He noted that the new players haven't experienced the history of Vandy folding in the face of adversity so there wasn't necessarily a feeling among those players of "here we go again." Instead, they just did what they knew to do, which was just power through the adversity and win.

That's a lot of speculation on their part, but I think there is some truth to it.

Marketing Department Pro Tip

I'd have Pavia voicing ads in Spanish on Spanish radio in Nashville starting this week. I'd also have him record 30-45 second hits for Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter. The offer is for $10 tickets that includes a characterized Diego Pavia "Los Commodores" t-shirt starting Saturday night.

We're going to sell out multiple times this year - use the money to promote Vandy football brand via Pavia. I'd spend $100,000 a week on socials, radio, and maybe a billboard or two around town (though I hate billboards) until the end of the year promoting Vandy football using Pavia. Or until we crash and burn.

It's a total shot in the dark. I have no idea if it would work. But Pavia is clearly a character we havent had in decades (if ever). Other than James Franklin. He's incredibly marketable. Need to strike while the iron is hot.

I'd also have him on Nashville sports radio paid spots all week with a similar offer in English. And non paid interviews. He should push ticket offers.

And I'd even throw in 5-$1,000 giveaway winners every week at every game. Maybe for students or tickets bought through the promotion.

Eli Stowers

I'm very high on Stowers. Big time athlete at hybrid TE / WR. Knows Beck system. This play was designed and executed absolutely beautifully. Bc "poor mans" version of players is being thrown around, I'm going to say he could be our poor man's Brock Bowers do it all type player. Fry me if you want, but I think sky is the limit for Stowers this season.

They still have to be coached!

Go get all the transfers and spend all the coin you want and those guys still have to get coached and put in position to be successful. The way the defense was lining up and playing was the opposite of that. Boneheaded mistakes, no energy, loser ball. No push on OL, zero sense of urgency, no separation outside, bad time management by coaching, getting lured into wasting TOs and stuff. Completely embarrassing effort.

Winners find a way to win, even ugly, and losers will create ways to lose you didn’t even know existed. GSU had 50 something new players on their roster too. Last night wasn’t about talent, it was just showing up and wanting to play. We breathed life into that team from opening kickoff.

Then…. I got to listen to the post game bullsh*t about not being disciplined and spirited. This is a clown show and I’m done with it. I always want what’s best for those players but they don’t have a chance. I feel sorry for the VS staff for having to cover this and listen to it, you deserve to have better content to cover.

Coach Lea never deserved the job and I feel like an idiot for ever supporting him. He wasn’t a good player and has only been a good coach with really good players. He doesn’t have that dog in him, no sh*t in his neck as they say. Our coach is soft and that’s why our team is as well.
