Football Question for Luke Wyatt

If I was ever the HC at Vandy I would demand Vandy Lance return to the program. Has Clark made this inquiry to Lance?

As in, I would load up the team bus and drive to his house and have the team tell him we need him. The OG version of VandyLance.

I would also inquire internally as to who kicked him out of Memorial and have a meeting with all parties in my office.

State of CSL

With the early end to a lackluster baseball season, CSL has now had yet another terrible athletics season. The baseball, men’s basketball and football team have now all three been absolutely worthless under her guidance. I would not say Vanderbilt has sunk to new levels of ineptitude one would think they had already achieved after years of futility but here we are.Taking L’s once again. Something has to be done.

On basketball content

If you couldn't tell by the Hoggard story, I was on the phone with Mark Byington for about 20 minutes last night for that story as well as one on Xavier Joyner, who has an exceptional story that you will all want to hear. There will be a few basketball stories from those calls and another one coming up that will be staggered over the next few weeks.

Their first day of summer ball was today and supposedly went well.

Off topic: Travel softball

Very good friend of mine is a Texas fan. Teagan Kavan is a freshman on the UT softball team and the ace of the staff. Still, my friend was surprised she started last night, thinking she needed one more day of rest. Anyway, I looked up her bio on the Longhorn website and read where she did not play for her high school team, rather she played travel ball before going to Texas. I had never heard of that before. Is that fairly common in softball? Any other sports?

FB Recruiting ***CAMERAN DICKSON COMMITS***

Was on campus this past weekend for an official visit

Dickson just recently picked up an offer from Vanderbilt back on May 23rd, so things moved very quickly between the Commodores and the 6-foot-2, 175-pound pass-catcher.

"The campus, staff, and the coaches," Dickson noted on what stood out during his time in Nashville this past weekend.

Wide receivers coach Alex Bailey has made a strong impression in Dickson's recruiting process so far.

"He's a great coach and not only that, he's a great person too," Dickson said of Bailey. "He's fun to be around and when it's time to coach, he's a great coach. He likes my film and thinks I can really fit in their system."

As a junior, Dickson hauled in 69 catches for 1,141 yards and 16 scores while also scoring touchdowns on two punt returns and one kickoff return.

Also had notable offers from Michigan State, TCU, Houston, and others.

Volleyball courts

While looking for other permits for Vandy United, I came across a demolition permit for the student rec center in which the description was to prepare the rec center to be able to host Volleyball matches and to prepare the space for the Volleyball program spaces (play court, telescoping spectator seating, public restrooms, concessions and locker rooms). The drawings don’t show a new layout but much of the demo area is at the existing interior basketball courts at the rec center and the bathrooms/locker rooms between the pool and basketball courts
