The loss to High Point completes the worst school year of Sports in the 3 major sports in a long time.

Corbin will hang it up and leave the program he’s given his life to at its worst point since his first couple of years on the job? Unless there is a personal/health issue, the idea he would do that seems contrary to everything he’s shown us for all these great years. He may not like what the game’s become, but he’s too much of a competitor and a winner to throw up his hands and go out like this.

Also, the Nick Saban comps are pretty off. He went out in the college football playoff with Bama in pretty good shape as a program. I might feel differently if our baseball program was where it needs to be and positioned for future success.

That seems a little extreme but I generally think highly of CDD other than their massive over media reaction to a one year US News Rankings drop — which simply just drew more attention the the drop and that VU cares what some old dude who keeps making data-science massive screw ups places them at.

I’d probably give him an A- and extend to 2030, but we sure do love contract extensions!

was a new low for this board. I don't know what is worse between the constant ripping of Tim Corbin (who is without a doubt the greatest Vanderbilt coach in my lifetime) or the sucking off of Tony Vitello. I get that people are upset about the loss to Coastal Carolina. I was pissed as well as I drove 6 hours one way to see that mess. I've also been upset about the past 3 seasons, but there is no one other than Tim Corbin that I want coaching Vanderbilt's baseball team. We've got some young spoiled fans that don't remember the Roy Mewbourne days. These same fans think that everyone in America is lining up to coach baseball at Vanderbilt. You guys sound just like the Kentucky baseball fans that thought they could hand pick anyone they wanted. We saw how that went. Coaches don't typically like to follow up legends which is exactly what Corbin is. Then, we've got people talking about that clown in Knoxville. Yes, he's a good baseball coach. He recruits well, and he's got assistants in under him that know how to do their job of teaching hitting and pitching. With that said, I wouldn't trade for Corbin for the clown in a million years. Although Vitello has improved a bit, his teams are still undisciplined and aren't good for the game of baseball in my opinion.

My fear is that the "adapt or retire" brigade is going to help lead Corbin into retirement which is exactly what we don't want. With a new hire, you are rolling the dice whether the new guy can coach. I'd rather keep the 2-time national champion and 2-time national runner-up at them helm. Is he above criticism? No. Does he need to make some changes to his staff? Yes especially in the hitting/recruiting department (Mike Baxter). I get it, but some need to take a chill pill. In the three major sports, we've actually got a winner in Tim Corbin unlike the other sports. He has brought incredible moments to my Vanderbilt fandom, and I look forward to Vanderbilt baseball in the future.

I would appreciate any information we may get regarding health and injury of our players. Is Johnny Vastine getting IVs and/or other forms of treatment and hydration. Are there others with his symptoms? Is Davis Diaz's knee bruised or damaged further? Was Matthew Polk banged up when he was tripped by the irregular inclined warning track at Clemson resulting in a hard crash into the outfield fence? How's Carter Holton's arm? Is Ethan McElvain cleared for extended innings? Is Jayden Davis cleared to take ground balls and play defense? Are there other nagging issues with health and injuries?

I’ll cover today from TV though one of my SE14 guys will be there and I’ll try to get a question or two to him. Joey will be there Saturday.

Idk who what when where or why - but I know that for about a decade - Vanderbilt baseball was one of the most purely talented team in the entire country. Multiple 1st round picks every year.

This team sucks. Use that Vanderbilt money and go get some Dansby Swansons and Kumar Rockers in the portal. Hire a real S&C coach. Bring back Travis Jewitt as hitting coach/recruiting coordinator (players loved him, btw).

I took a look online to see if I could get the dimensions. Here's what I've found out.

1. Short down the foul lines. Only 310' to the poles, and 390' in dead center. I believe it's 365' power alleys.
2. Moderate foul territory.
3. Dirt field.
4. Low outfield fence all the way around.
5. Moderate seating capacity (4500 permanent seats), and another 1700 standing room only for the hillside down the left side line.

Current weather forecast calls for rain late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Went to the VU website and started pulling stats for players who have played large chunks of multiple seasons under Mike Baxter the last 4-5 years. I know it has been talked about quite a bit already, but just to see how many players have not improved over their careers or even gotten worse the more they have been coached by Baxter is quite unsettling.

The stats are .AVG/.OBP/SLUGGING. I didnt input stats for years where they barely played.
