Sports movie recommendation: It Ain’t Over

Just saw this movie/documentary about Yogi Berra and the NY Yankees. excellent. I was more aware of his days as manager, and of course his funny sayings, but his baseball stats are unbelievable. (purpose of movie was to highlight his gifts as a baseball player that are usually forgotten). It was extremely well done. Funny, uplifting, and moving too. Lots of game footage and interviews. It was playing at an art house/foreign film theatre here, so I don’t know if you will have access to it in your home area, but when it moves to a streaming service, please take the time to watch. You will love it. It was 98% on tomatometer and 96% audience score.

IRS is starting to audit the collectives:

The 501c3 status is going away for NIL collectives, even if previously approved. Booster groups that insourced NIL are going to have to spin out the NIL collectives if they want to keep their 501c3 status.

- On what stood out during his OV with Vandy:

"It was great. Never felt more like home. It's definitely a place I can call home. All the coaches are great, easy to talk to, even Coach (Clark) Lea. It was a great experience."

- On his relationship with the coaches:

"I talk the most with Coach (Alex) Bailey the most. On my film, he told me after-the-catch was great I have everything to be a great wideout. I just need the simple stuff, like knowing when to use a move and things like that."

- On his conversations with Coach Lea:

"It was great overall. He was just telling me to be true to what I believe in and go with my gut on wherever I go, even if it's not Vandy because only you know where you wanna go no matter what they tell you."

- On his player host:

"It was great. I was hanging out with Sedrick (Alexander), the running back from Austin. He was cool. Never had to worry about anything. He always brought the energy no where where we were at."

Howard has an official visit with Duke set for next weekend and said it's a two-team race between Vandy and Duke. Decision will likely be made after that trip.

FB Recruiting Crews Law update

Just got off the phone with Law. Had an awesome time at Vanderbilt. Ended up coming in this past weekend because he cancelled his Virginia Tech official. Loved his conversations with the coaches and hung out a lot with Jeffrey Ugo, Lanston Patterson, London Humphreys, and AJ Swann most of the weekend. He really enjoyed his conversations with Coach Lea and how he didn't press him to make a decision and told him to go through the process.

Law told me he eliminated some teams because they were pressing for a commitment a little aggressively.

He is planning to take his officials to North Carolina and Kentucky the next two weekends. All three of Vandy, UNC, and UK he has great relationships with and he has the ability to play with his brother, Cade Law, at each program as well.

Told me Miss. State and Miami are pressing for official visits at the end of the month.
