Here’s how the SEC standings would look if no one played MO or SC.
1. Texas. 18-9
2. Vandy 19-11. 0.5 games behind
3. LSU 14-10. 2.5 games behind
4. Arkansas 14-10. 2.5 games behind
5. Georgia. 15-12. 3 games behind
6. Auburn 14-13. 4 games behind
As you can see, LSU and Arkansas had the good fortune to play both MO and SC.
Next point: Along with NC and somebody else these are your top 8 national seeds IMHO.
If the NCAAT Selection Committee does not take this into account then they are perpetuating fraud upon a gullible public.
I fully expect @ChesterCopperpot1 to hop on that as soon as it happens, which it probably will, provided he has already dispensed with Mr. Sasaki, international fugitive and illegal immigrant residing in California, probably in hiding by now, but definitely not playing good baseball.
We should be a top 3 National Seed, 4 at worst if they insist on putting an ACC team in the top 3 — the metrics don’t really support it but they won’t let the top 6 seeds all be SEC even though they deserve it.
This view is supported by lots of other data besides conference record: RPI, KPI, ELO, SOS, ISR, Quad1 wins, Quad1 record.
In those measurements Vandy is currently numbers: 3, 2, 2, 2, 9, 2, 7
Texas is 4, 3, 3, 16, 1, 1
Georgia is 1, 6, 10, 5, 2, 6, 8
Auburn is 2, 5, 11, 1, 7, 2, 5
Arkansas is 5, 1, 4, 14, 3, 5, 4
LSU is 8, 7, 4, 33, 5, 5, 6
Texas probably deserves the 1 seed, but just barely, with Vandy/Georgia as 2 and 3, in either order.
Arkansas and LSU are in the mix only based on name, stadium size, and number of rabid, idiotic fans, Ben McDonald, and Todd Walker. Auburn’s metrics are better than either one of them.
So a fair ranking would be:
1. Texas
2-3. Vandy/Georgia
4. NC
5. Auburn
6. Arkansas
7. LSU
8. Somebody else, probably Oregon or Oregon St.
Of course, one cannot expect fairness when the NCAA is involved so the ranks will be:
1. LSU
2. Arkansas
3. Texas
4. North Carolina
5. Georgia
6. Vandy
7. Oregon State/Oregon
8. Auburn
9. Oregon State/Oregon.
BTW, LSU’s SOS is an embarrassing #33, DEAD LAST IN THE SEC!!!!
Their only claim to success is getting to play both MO and SC and THEY STILL LOST 1 GAME!!!!!
But you watch, they’ll definitely get a seed of either 1, 2, or 3.

Now I’ve used up all the f’s I had left to give today so good night.
