So, who do we want on Saturday?

I go Mississippi State because that gives us the easiest path to the finals, plus, I do not want Tennessee to have a shot at the finals. If I knew we would beat them again, obviously, Tennessee, but their lineup is way better than Mississippi State, so that's why I say State.

Of course, I wanted ATM, but that wasn't meant to be.

Being off Friday is a HUGE advantage. It is so big.

Think the SEC will make The Hoover Met the long term venue?

To me the SECT is the Hoover Met. Sankey mentioned tonight that he doesn’t know anywhere else they could get a sold out Tuesday night atmosphere with all of the accommodations for travelers (RVs etc). Hopefully they don’t move it to Austin or Dallas I think that would be a big mistake. Birmingham is so centrally located and accessible.

Some quick thoughts on Vanderbilt and the NCAA Tournament bubble

RPI fell from 22 to 23 overnight, I don't think that's a big deal but thought I'd throw it out there.

Their metrics did take a small hit; at one point yesterday they had 11 Quad 1 wins but that fell to eight this morning. The reason: Beating Florida knocked the Gators out of the top 25 of the RPI and down to 28. A home win has to be top 25 of the RPI for it to count as Quad 1, so they lost two by virtue of beating the Gators.

They also lost a Quad 1 win against Texas; Quad 1 is 1-40 at neutral sites and Texas fell from 39 to 42.

Will this hurt Vanderbilt? It won't help but I'm skeptical it's some sort of killer.

And the main reason why is that the NCAA will also look at KPI, where Vanderbilt is 19th this morning.

Anyway, by either raw RPI or KPI, there's nothing to suggest this isn't a tournament team. And ugliness of the season aside, those are the things that count and it's hard to argue them being out at this point. If something crazy happens then that could change but it feels like it would have to be a whole lot of crazy.

Whose the most dangerous team in the SEC tournament ???

Well, I have to say that it's Florida. Florida is feeling the real pressure of being a bubble team. RIP and SOS aside, their W/L numbers are barely above the .500 (necessary for inclusion in the NCAA tourney). Last week they had to take two from a very hot Georgia team, and they did it; in Athens. UK, ut, A&M, UGA, ARK, and probably State are all safely in the NCAA playoffs. The VandyBoys, Ala, and SC are all still a bit dodgy, but should make it in if the committee isn't full of idiots. Ole Miss would have to win 4 games in Hoover.
