Despite my recent negativity regarding the sellout, and other aspects of the offseason. I am stoked to be back in the stands for today. I feel like today’s game is very similar to the KSU game a few years back. Really will set the tone for the season, and should be a good litmus test to see how we do against UK, USC, Mizzou, and other low to mid tier SEC opponents. Optimistic about Clark running the defense, completely unaware of how the offense will do. Which in itself is exciting.

As the NFL roster cut day approaches (Tuesday 8/27) I figured we should start a thread of keeping track of former VU players that have made rosters or been cut.

So far Allan George was cut by the Bengals.


Some players to watch that are on the fringe of making Rosters:

JMatt (Panthers) - surprising preseason as a TE. Could make the team
Anfernee Orji (Saints) - really good preseason and is expected to make the 53
Matthew Hayball (Saints) - Expected to win the Saints punting competition
Oren Burks (Eagles) - disappointing preseason and dealing with injuries. Probably won’t make 53.

I had my Vanderbilt hat on and this guy's dad saw me and asked about it. His son (Herschel) took a recruiting trip to Vanderbilt. He is an offensive lineman. They are from Vancouver British Columbia. He committed to Bucknell University. Does anyone remember him?

What ever happened to the random track guy we picked up? Can’t remember if it was last season or the year before but where’d he go?

The weather forecast mentions a good possibility of thundershowers during the game. I am going and personally don't want to be in the rain.

VU will likely be run dominant with a sprinkling of short passes. So if there is rain (without lightening), would it help us?

Sanders throws for 445, he catches two passes for a couple dozen yards. He is buried on that depth chart, whereas here he was the number 1. What a dumb decision by him.

After a string of mixed performances, Rocker and Leiter have both lit up their last few appearances. Both commanding the heat. Rocker to AAA and Leiter to the show.

I know it’s one game, but I wonder if Will Sheppard is regretting his decision to go to Colorado. He’s the fourth receiving option and only had three targets last night. I know he was unhappy at Vandy, but Colorado does not look like a great fit for him at all. I think Deion oversold him and he bought it

See if spread changes much leading up to Saturday.

Love this dude. Still remember watching his high school film and how he closed gaps and his impact at the point of contact. Talks about this game prep, our offense, Pavia, etc. You will like what he says about Pavia.
