FB Recruiting ***Few recruiting notes***

- Vanderbilt is going to get an official visit from Texas ATH Ashton Ojiaku on the weekend of December 9th-11th. Most schools like Ojiaku as a safety, but Vanderbilt actually prefers him at running back. He also plans to officially visit UNLV. Ojiaku has offers from Rice, Army, Wyoming, Houston, Air Force, etc.

'(Vanderbilt) offered me for running back. They like my versatility and how I run the rock,' said Ojiaku. 'I hear most from Coach (Norval) McKenzie. I talk to him everyday.'

- Texas Tech commit Nick Fattig is a name to watch before signing day. He officially visited Vanderbilt last month, and he is still considering the Commodores. He told me last week that his main focus is on finishing his senior season and finals. His senior season ended with a loss in the state championship last Friday. I asked him if he plans to sign in December. Fattig replied, 'not until I consider everything.'

- A grad transfer to watch is Harvard corner Alex Washington. The 6-foot-2 and 192-pound corner played high school football at Mountain Brook near Birmingham, AL. He is a 2x All-Ivy League performer. Washington confirmed to me that he has already been in contact with the Vanderbilt coaching staff. His combo of size and athleticism at corner will likely make him a hot commodity in the portal.

Basketball Liam Robbins is blossoming into a go-to guy for Vanderbilt

Liam Robbins averaged just 6.8 points last season and 3.5 points in Vanderbilt's first two games of the 2022-23 season, but has flipped a switch since Vanderbilt's trip to Philadelphia. More on Robbins' finally blossoming into the player that Vanderbilt always thought they had, here:

Got confirmation that GT commit Jacob Cruz visited Vanderbilt today. He camped at Vandy over the summer, so the staff has been familiar with him for a while. He projects as a LB/DE at the next level and obviously Georgia Tech will have a new head coach soon, so that situation is in limbo. Don't think a flip is imminent as this was an unofficial visit, but could see Cruz coming back to Vanderbilt next month for an official visit if he's still not sold on the direction of GT.

Football pressure

seems like all of the pressure falls squarely on the shoulders of the orange. sure, vu has bowl eligibility at stake, but NO ONE expected them to even be in this position. I hope vu plays with laser focus, but fast and furious, and with a chip on their collective shoulders.
I hope the orange team comes out tight, uninspired, and somewhat in disarray behind milton/melton ?
an early turnover, with vu capitalizing on it would be nice. keep the foot on the throat. attack. attack. then RayBall them back to Knoxville to await their berth in the Gasparilla Bowl .

ONE. MORE. SLEEP.

There are still tickets left for $60-$70 on the Vandy side! Show up early, get your favorite beer in your system, head to the stadium, and cheer on the seniors before the game. And then be LOUD during the game!! Lfg! Anchor Down!
