Do the schools that have football factories have a team of employees that can go out and collect NIL deals for an athlete or perspective athlete? Example. Can a UT, Bama, etc go out to the big business donors/supporters and say we need this much money to associate you with a certain level athlete? Can they do this using a recruit or enrollee's name? Does the businesses even care which athlete is assigned to them as the "NIL Donation" gives them the football access and perks they desire?

I'm admittedly ignorant on this topic but it feels as those schools can/do that and Vanderbilt just set up a website and said so and so is available for this engagement for $100......

I said 18-13 puts us right on the bubble and a sweat on Selection Sunday.

Now, the question is what has to happen for this team to improve?

I have some thoughts but I definitely want some thoughts from our hardcore hoops fans too.

-Have to find a way to get to the FT line more often.

-Have to improve team FT shooting. To me, the Mendoza Line for free throw shooting is 70%, so that’s the goal.

-Continue to feed Liam Robbins. It’s important that he gets the ball around the block, he’s unstoppable down there and when we get it to him too far away from the hoop, it’s usually a lost possession.

-Stute continues to try to expand his game. Being a one trick pony makes him and us easier to defend. I like him trying to get into the paint. He has to learn to use the glass around the rim but he’s trying and that could make us better if he could add a few buckets in the paint per game.

-Filet Manjon has to continue expanding his offensive game. It’s sad to see a lead guard who can’t shoot but I’m not sure that can change at this stage of his career. So… pick and rolls with Liam and QMB, getting to the rim, getting to the line, mid rage game. We desperately need 10 ppg from him.

-Get consistent play from Jordan Wright. Simply put, he has to show up every single night. We don’t need 22 from him to win, we need defense, rebounding, and a consistent offensive output. Give us 12 every night.

-Freshmen to continue to get better. Dia must not be doing enough in practice to earn PT but Colin Smith is playing well in his time and Dort is showing real signs of earning time. 6 rebounds and 2 blocks from Dort last night.

-I still think keeping the rotations short is the play. Robbins, Stute, Filet, Wright, Lawrence will get the bulk of the minutes. QMB, Smith and Thomas round out the top 8. Dia, Dort and Lewis in spot work, Ansong for energy and matchups. Noah is probably in mop up duty at this point, I hope he’s a hard worker, he’s a guy who can play but needs to become a better shooter.

They also play each other in their bowl game on 12/17 so awkward.

Occasionally a bit of overlap with kids we recruit. Louisville has a nice class lined up, not sure if any poaching opportunities there or not.

Nothing can be more damning than the insane drop in production for Seals between coordinators.
2020: 6.7 YPA, 64.6% Comp, 127 QBR
2021: 5.1 YPA, 56% Comp, 101 QBR

This is despite us having one of the better pass pro offensive lines in conference- 5th in the conference vs conference foes in sacks allowed. We have way more talent on offense than people give them credit for. They are being held back. And it wouldn't surprise me to see more frustrated key contributors on that side of the ball transfer out vs playing under this scheme. Time to make a change.

Is Lea results driven in his staff? Or is he stubbornly Deuce 2.0?

Do we expect him back? I think I saw in another thread he may be exploring other options.

At least now that transfers no longer have to sit out a year it means they won't be 5th year players who need to get into grad school at one of the toughest places there is to get in. Ray was one of the last players who sat a year.

If you can't get into grad school why can't you just stay in undergrad and get a second major and keep playing ball?

Is it just as simple as no one wants to do that? Or can you literally not do that?

I'm too young to have really followed Sanders in his "prime" and actually have never heard him speak as a coach. But this was a good sound bite imo
