Football Stadium construction updates:

Has anyone from the AD given any updates on progress? Are there any forecasts on completions of various segments? I watch the live cameras daily because I'm an old retired fart with a VU engineering degree and sometimes nothing better to do. From what I've recently seen it seems like the new club house, locker rooms, and short game practice facilities at Vanderbilt Legends Club will finish 1st. There's a lot of Q-decking going in place now in the south end zone of the football stadium. Some pumping of concrete for decks should be following shortly. Work in the north end zone/Basketball Operations Center seems to be slowed; however, continuing work there may be out of view of the one live camera in place. I'm still not convinced that rapid completion of these projects is a HIGH priority due to the lack of weekend/overtime work. Please feel free to add anything you've seen, heard, or even rumors. It keeps me entertained.

FB Recruiting ***2025 TE EARNS VANDERBILT OFFER DURING VISIT***

Tallked with new TE offer Matt Maietti out of New Jersey who recently visited for spring practice this week. He camped with Vanderbilt last summer as well.

CMB

Haha, I new this would get some attention. No, it's nothing bad.

I'm just a big movie guy, and had a thought connecting our new coach and a movie.

Most of you are to young to remember, but there was a early 90's movie called " New Jack City" starring Wesly Snipes, Ice T, and Judd Nelson.

The reason that I bring this up, is that their criminal organazation was called the "CMB", (Cash Money Brothers). There has to be some kinda nickname connection between CMB, or New Jack City and our new CMB and Nashville.

Nashville is the new "New Jack City" because coach Byington likes his team to jack up threes? Idk, someone should be able to come up with something. You could even use the movie poster, with coach Byington's picture in the Wesley Snipes spot, with our best three players in the other spots on the poster.

Thoughts?

FB Recruiting ***CARSON LAWRENCE TALKS SPRING PRACTICE VISIT***

Longtime Vanderbilt safety commit Carson Lawrence was back at Vanderbilt on Thursday for their spring practice and he was impressed with what he saw from the Commodores.

"Liked how it was more competitive and more talented guys," Lawrence noted. "Coach (Melvin) Rice is definitely a great teacher and he wants to see you have success."

The three-star was last at Vandy back in late January for a Jr. Day visit and he's built a great rapport with new safeties coach Micah Rice since he's joined Vanderbilt's staff.

"He’s already come to watch me workout at McCallie and we’ve been on the phone multiple times, so we are more familiar than you’d think," Lawrence told VandySports.com back in February. "But, I like Coach Rice a lot as a person, and as a coach he has a history of developing guys everywhere that he’s been."

Lawrence remains committed to Vanderbilt despite a wave of new offers and taking other visits in the process. Currently, the McCallie (Tenn.) product has official visits set with Vanderbilt (May 31st), West Virginia (June 7th), Miami (June 14th), and Virginia Tech (June 21st).

Vanderbilt will definitely have a fight on their hands to keep Lawrence in their 2025 recruiting class.

Basketball Something I’ve Noticed

It’s really not worth comparing this staff to Stack’s staffs because it’s not comparable, but the difference is really refreshing. The level of transfers this staff is after is considerably higher than that of Stack. Taking a look at some of Rick Ray’s latest twitter follows, we’re after some really good players.

Noah Reynolds - G Green Bay - 20ppg 4.5ast 3.7rpg

Aubin Gateretse - C Stetson - 11.6ppg 7.6rpg

Mike James - G Louisville - 12.6ppg 5rpg

Eric Dailey Jr - G Oklahoma St - 9.3ppg 4.8rpg

Javian McCollum - G Oklahoma - 13.3ppg 3.4apg 2.6rpg

Jordan Pope - G Oregon St - 17.6ppg 3.4apg

Danny Wolf - C Yale - 14.1ppg 9.7rpg

Tyler Bilodeau - F Oregon St - 14.3ppg 5.7rpg

Jason Edwards - G North Texas - 19.1ppg

Brandon Angel - F Stanford - 13.0 ppg 4.7rpg

Micah Peavy - F TCU - 10.9ppg, 4.9rpg

This is in addition to Malik Mack, Jacob Meyer, Tyler Nickel, Tyler Perkins, etc.

It appears CMB is serious when he says he wants this rebuilt in 2-3 months. We’re going after the transfers with a ton of high major interest. Hopefully the NIL fund is enough to land 2 or 3 of these guys because then you may have something. It’s a night and day difference from the last staff, and I’m excited to see how the next month shakes out.
