Indianapolis 500

Has completely snuck up on me. I was a big fan back in the day. The time trials used to be the best in live sports drama. I lived in Carmel the year they had so may wrecks and Gordon Johncock finally won a rain delayed race on like Tuesday. Loved A.J. Foyt, Jr. and the Andretti's. The Unsers not so much. Although Al Unser, Jr. had a great quote when asked what it is all about, "Simple, you either blow the other guys away, or you get blowed away." That about sums it up. All 200 laps of it.

Coastal Carolina - "Very Different Team"

Beat Wake 17-9 with 8 Chanticleer hitters being hit by a pitch. With our propensity for hitting other teams' hitters, we should watch out for this clandestine approach to winning Friday's game! (tongue-in-cheek)

They, also, beat UNC twice and James Madison 2 out of 3 plus swept Michigan and pounded Illinois 17-9. Lost close games to Duke and NC State.

Had a 15 game winning streak pre-conference play . . . sound familiar . . . and then struggled a little in conference with a 6 game losing streak in conference play . . . 8 overall including mid-week games.

The rule about a catcher moving forward on a pitch. - Can not one ESPN person understand it

You have to think of it as if a batter is stealing any base not just home.

If a pitch is over the plate (a pitch out is wide of the plate for a reason), a catcher on a runner stealing 2nd cannot step forward and catch the ball over the plate or in front of the plate impede the batter from an opportunity to swing or bunt the baseball. Of course it would give the catcher a better chance of throwing out the runner at second but it’s not allowed.

The same concept applies to stealing home. Chris Burks comment was an idiot comment (he said it would be hard for the catcher to get the runner out if he had to wait for the pitch so how else is he supposed to play it, what if batter swung or if it was a suicide squeeze play, what’s the batter supposed to do Chris??????).

The key is it was a pitch. Just because a runner is stealing home doesn’t change how you can react to a pitch.

Pitcher needs to step off the mound. Otherwise when you get a jump like that you have a good chance of stealing home. The catcher prevented that illegally no difference than if he had done the same thing on a runner stealing second.

Tennessee media fanboy Wes Rucker

Wes Rucker threw every single excuse possible out there when VU beat UT in round 2.

He was tweeting and even writing articles about how UT didn’t care about the sec tournament and was essentially just wanting to rest all of their arms and get home.

He is still maintaining that winning the conference tournament was not one of their goals, even as Vitello finished today having used his top reliever 4 times in 5 days, capping off today with almost 3 innings.

Doesn’t get more delusional than that. He fits that fanbase perfectly.

I'll take a 19* rpi in a second

based on the way they played late season. I think we can do some damage in the Regional.

*Disclaimer: At 9:24:07.01 it was 19. That doesn't guarantee it was or will be the rpi one second earlier on one later. Very likely not tomorrow. Or yesterday. Less likely the further you go in the past of future. Other rpi bracketologists may agree, disagree, have no opinion of have some opinion- of varying degrees- on the matter.
