What do you think?

I suspect I have OCD because I read every post in every thread, even though I know what some people will say without reading. The exception is that I won't read a long game thread after a loss because I already feel bad enough. If it's a home game in football, basketball, or baseball, I'm there. I haven't put anyone on block or ignore (or whatever).

These are my three favorite topics:
1) Recruiting
2) Analysis (Chris's 3,2,1; Joey's postgame, etc., and I'll throw the podcasts in here)
3) Breaking news on any sports stuff, especially VU related.

My least favorite:
1) Dead horse syndrome.
2) Endless back and forth. It's okay to let someone else have the last word.
3) Player bashing. If I wouldn't want it said about my son, I wouldn't print it.

I love this site, and I love VU athletics, as do most of the posters on here. What are your top and bottom three? I expect a variety. Life would be dull if everyone thought the same.

Finally, I recently read a quote that I love. Something like this: "Whenever it is possible, be kind. It is always possible."

Have a good week, and Go Dores!

Hoops Recruiting Vandy staff taking big swings in 2024 backcourt recruiting

Will have a lot more on this in the offseason but with Travis Perry visiting for Auburn along with Trent Perry coming for Florida it feels like Stack and company are putting the full court press on 2024 guard recruiting. Don't forget about Brentwood Academy guard Tyler Tanner, either.

Vanderbilt already has Karris Bilal in the class and seems to be aiming for more. Not sure the order in which they view the three uncommitted guys in yet or how many they'd take but landing any of them alongside Bilal would be tremendous. Think it would have an argument as one of Stack's better backcourt classes. Obviously swinging big and actually landing the guys are much different things, though.

Content schedule for this week

As you guys know, I'm a little behind right now. My mom (who is about to turn 80) is having some sudden health issues, nothing life-threatening, but concerning nonetheless, and I spent last night at St. Thomas West keeping an eye on her. She should be okay and there are no guarantees and so there's a chance that could further disrupt some things and so anyway, keep that in mind if something changes and by all means, please keep her in your prayers. She's having a ton of memory-related issues the last few months and has been through a battery of tests and the doctors just haven't been able to pinpoint anything and it's been really trying on our family, and especially our dad.

Anyway, that got me started late on everything this week. Here's what I'm hoping to pull off:

- Baseball 3-2-1 later tonight.
- Spring practice coverage in the morning (me).
- Podcast with Luke (hopefully tomorrow)
- Baseball coverage vs. Austin Peay tomorrow (Joey)
- Baseball coverage Wednesday night (I think Joey will be in Lexington for that)
- Șpring practice coverage Thursday morning (me)
- Baseball podcasts with Chip Fridrich (probably Wednesday or Thursday)
- Podcast with Kevin Ingram (probably Wednesday or Thursday)
- Baseball coverage vs. Nebraska on Friday (me)
- I'll do either the baseball game on Saturday morning (vs. a ranked Maryland team) or the football practice Saturday (or maybe I'll do baseball and someone else, football, haven't figured that one out yet)
- Basketball coverage vs. Mississippi State Saturday (Joey)
- Baseball coverage vs. Minnesota Sunday (me)

Again, there are a lot of moving parts here but that's the hope, just be patient if we get a little behind on delivery.

Vandy basketball vs Top 75

Just glancing at KenPom and it looks like as of next Saturday night we will have played 31 total games and 18 of those 31 will have been against the top 75 teams in the country.

As of now we are 6-10 against the top 75 teams.

We’re 1-5 on the road (W @Fla / L @VCU, @Mizz, @UTjr, @aTm, @Bama)

We’re 0-2 on neutral site games (St Mary’s, NC St).

We’re 5-3 at home (W Pitt, Arky, UTjr, Aub, Fla / L Memphis, Bama, UK)

Road record 4-6 (W @Temple, @UGA, @Carl’s Jr, @Fla / L @VCU, @Mizz, @UTjr, @aTm, @Bama, @LSU)

The resume is very solid. The schedule is very solid. Looks like Grambling and Southern Miss may be too much to overcome….

…. but there is opportunity ahead of us!

The team is executing well and we are a load offensively. Can we find enough defense down the stretch?

Not sure if the above is interesting to anybody else but

Football NEZ Permit Issued

Some really good news from last night as the foundation permit for the NEZ facility was formally approved and issued. You'll notice the live construction cam looks a little busier these days and we can safely say all that work is permitted now. A bonus of the approved permit was the included Civil and Structural drawings for the facility, which you can take a look at under "documents" here: https://epermits.nashville.gov/#/permit/4212588

@baseballbros will follow up with the real civil engineer take on this

What have we become?

What a mess. This crap is no different than team politics. Once we have put an opinion out there on social media, we just stick to it.

It’s hilarious to watch almost every single topic turn into an Anti Stackhouse stance vs Every Opinion that isn’t mired in Anti Stackhouse sentiment.

The Anti Stackhouse group, unilaterally, doesn’t give us any chance at making the NCAAt unless we win the SECt.

The Every Opinion that isn’t mired in Anti Stackhouse sentiment group is almost unilaterally in agreement that if we go 4-1 down the stretch, we still have a shot at an at large bid.

The above is just one example because it’s almost every topic connected to VU hoops turns out the same way with the same few guys.

As for me, I won’t apologize for not giving up, that’s how I’m wired and I hope our basketball team feels the same way (sure looks like they’re still fighting).

I think some of y’all just enjoy being miserable. I doubt y’all will come back to Memorial or go to the SECt to support the team. It’d be nice if y’all proved me wrong though.

Go Vandy?

Moved Up to #7 in the D1 Baseball Top 25

Obviously early season top 25s are about the most meaningless things out there but good to see some forward movement after taking down UCLA.

Central Ark notwithstanding hard not to be happy with a first 2 weeks that includes wins over Texas, Okie St and UCLA x2

Crowd vs FL compared to Auburn

How many folks think there were more VU fans at the FL game than the Auburn game. It would have to be those that swore up and down that Auburn fans way out numbered VU fans not counting students. Otherwise there is no way Aub fans outnumbered VU fans if the same or more VU fans attended the Auburn game that attended the FL game. And do you think that happened after VU lost to LSU

I can again explain the sections but it was so obvious yesterday. Most empty seats compared to Auburn were in F, 2F and 3F (I couldn’t see 3L but I imagine it was pretty empty). Sections mostly full yesterday with VU fans: L, 2L and good amount in Belle Meade sections yesterday . Fill in a lot of those empty seats and that was the Aub crowd, dressed in bright Orange. Again no one was arguing there was too many, but all you had to do was look at the empty seats yesterday to know there weren’t more Aub fans than VU, not really that close (and top 1/2 sections of 3L and 3F were for sure less than half full the Aub game).

I think there were more VU fans at the Aub game than the FL game (probably not a lot more but more) too, but that’s just me guessing.
