The SEC Tournament start Tuesday and end on Saturday night. So you can have the semi finals game on Friday night. So who ever played the late game in the quarters final on Thursday will have about 24 hours until thier next game. Vanderbilt players probably did not get in bed until 2 am this morning and they supposed to play in 12 hours.

My thoughts have always been that it’s a top 35 job, and if the facilities that are being promised are built, it goes to being a top 30ish. Maybe I’m being a little bit of a homer but I can’t be too far off.

But it really doesn’t matter what I think, I’m curious as to what the industry and potential coaches think. I also come from the @Friedas_Boss school of thought that money, especially large sums of it, changes minds quickly.

To my question, have the events over the last 5 years or so wrecked the perception of that job? I’d have to believe that @storead and @Southernpipe have just done tremendous damage to the reputation of the athletics programs in general, particularly basketball. @Southernpipe for going all in on Turner then Stackhouse and @storead by being herself.

These are really good and most any HM team with 5Q1 wins and 10-10 in top 2 Q’s with top 25 SoS would be easily in field.

Predictive Metrics:
Sagarin: 58

These are what is dragging VU down, but good news they have surpassed 80 and a Sagarin is now easily in at large territory if other things are good.

I believe why most still don’t have VU is is due to formulas they use. If ANYONE just digs in to VUs numbers and records and where some things fall (like Grambling is now up to 170 in NET (went up 6 spots from yesterday), and home losses Q4 range is 161-363, most would see Grambling is really no different than a Q3 loss which would change the formula but the media bra is aren’t doing this much work they just stick teams in formulas. That’s just one of several examples with VU. Memphis also is now 31 in NET and Auburn is 32. Memphis has great chance to move up as they are still playing. And if so that would make VU have no Q2 losses.

More than likely VUs decision of in or out is already made. I really really don’t see how they aren’t in and fairly easily in assuming the committee doesn’t use some formula or they don’t strictly go by it like the bracket folks do. That’s just an assumption though.

I watched a few games early in the year, but the basketball just seemed bad and uninspired.
I’ve been following the past couple months here on the board of the ‘fire stack’ movement to now the ‘we should be dancing’ movement.

Rather than have a discussion about if the team should be in or not - id like to see what you all think about why the team is playing better.

Is it lineup changes that Stack has made?
Was it stack unblocking everyone on twitter that undid the voodoo?
Is it Manjon?

I tend to think that it’s a large portion due to Manjon playing lights out and igniting the team.

How have they been able to seemingly not miss a beat when Robbins went out?

Would be interested in talking about the team rather than the dance.

14th out of 14 teams by a significant margin at .249 You can say it’s early and we’ve played a tough schedule and blah blah blah. That’s all true but we still suck at the plate. Both Bradfield and Hewitt hit well over .300 last year but aren’t anywhere close to that this season ; so there is reason to believe the numbers could go up. But it's not pretty right now.

Other than our beloved Commodores, who should we cheer for today?

UAB is actually a 2.5 point favorite. A couple of things here

FAU is the better at large team with NCAA, at least that is what everyone thinks. If so will be bad news if UAB wins for bubble teams

If predictive metrics are so important, why is FAU supposedly in and UAB not because predictive metrics is higher on UAB than FAU. And if that is not the case VU should easily be in.

They just reported on the SEC now after the game that Lunardi says we’re in his first four out.
