no surprise. Didn't think we'd ever see him again in a Vandy uni

I know this has been brought up before, but I forget what was said. The crowd on Tuesday vs. Indiana was really good. It seemed nearly full including the outfield. But not the seats behind home plate. Are these seats largely corporate tickets rather than individuals, seats reserved for scouts, etc., other Vandy or SEC personnel? Or are they people who can afford higher priced tickets but only come for the "good" games or perfect weather? I don't know how you would do it, but it sure would be nice that when there are large numbers of empty seats there, it would be great to fill them.

If money is not a problem, I would at least make phone calls to Jay Wright and Mark Turgeon to see if they want back in the game. Both could stabilize the program.
at the very least if we hire hire a young coach we some ex veteran coach in a consultant role.

I know he was mentioned earlier by someone, but would he be a serious candidate? He is doing very well at Dayton.

I didn't think Vanderbilt would do it, but, they surprised me. They fired Stack.


Now, hire someone with college coaching experience, instead of another experiment with none.

Hearing St. Louis is trying to make a quick move on him. I'd think he could do better than that but just passing that along.

Too early to consider him? Got high marks while he was here, known as a great recruiter and in his very short time at OSU I think 6-1 with a win over Purdue and has them in the conversation for a tourney birth after being out of it , it looked like.

May have to wait on him (couldn’t hire him quick) maybe OSU ends up hiring him (but thinking they go for a more established candidate).

I know basically no head coaching experience until now so such an unknown but my gut says he’s going to be a really good head coach.

I’m not a basketball guy but I’ve been an observer of Vandy admin craziness for nearly 50 years. How does Mack hurdle potential admin objections? Looks like a great coach but can he hurdle admin?

This came from a Tier 1 source inside the AD. Look for VU to make a slightly outside the box hire. Here are 3 candidates that will interview.

Anthony Boone-U of Central Arkansas. Knows the landscape in the SEC

Joe Golding-UTEP. Great success building the program at Abilene Christian, doing a nice job of building at UTEP.

Rick Croy-California Baptist. Did a great job at the D2 level and has done a good job helping them transition to D1. Some concerns about recruiting at P5 level but a strong dark horse candidate to some making the decisions.

I’ll pass more along as I find out.

Everyone is all excited about Stackhouse getting canned. This is absolutely not a great outcome.

The necessary outcome was for Stackhouse to return and go 5-27 next season, and he gets fired along with Candace.

This is just a band-aid over a festering, infected, puss oozing wound.

I am disappointed. Even if she makes what’s viewed as a decent hire, VU still has what’s widely considered the worst AD in the country, and by a wide margin.

This thing had to burn all the way to the ground before it could have a chance to get better. That didn’t happen.
