Women’s Hoops - really good bubble day for VU

Princeton wins convincingly over Columbia
MTSU Wins
Fairfield makes 2nd half comeback to get to OT and wins.
Both Drake and Stoney Brook advance to their conf championship

While it didn’t seem Fairfield would get a bid you just never know and good for them to finish 30-1 with VU their only loss

Princeton and MTSU were the big ones eliminating any bubble stealers from their conferences.

If Fairfield wasn’t going to get an at large I doubt Stoney Brook would either. Not so sure about Drake though tomorrow so they are probably the last possible bid stealer league (and they won in OT today)

But it would be a surprise I think now at this point if VU doesn’t get in but it’s not a lock. Portland is the only true bid stealer with the MVC still possible I think.

Basketball Colin Smith set to enter the transfer portal

Was told awhile back that Smith may have been more likely to stay if Stack stayed because then he would've known his role. Not sure how it ultimately shook out, could've gone in for a different reason. Would've been a useful piece for them.

Basketball Transfer Stats - Men's Basketball - End of Regular Season - Updated on 3/10 - All Players - Scroll Down

As the Big Sky (added Frank's stats on 3/7 @ 10 AM EST)), CAA, MVC, Southern, Summit and Sun Belt conferences' regular seasons have wound down, what better time than now to look at full regular season statistical profile of the players who transferred out of the men's program. While I will update Teren Franks' stats tomorrow, here are a few observations:

  • curiously, 4 of the 6 (edited on 3/7 @ 10 AM EST) players' teams sit 2nd to last in their respective conference . . . identical to the Dores position in the SEC;
  • further, if McBride, Dorsey and QMB were not on their respective teams, those programs would be in last place, in my opinion, and
  • Jermaine Mann has not played in any games since late January, although I cannot determine if he suffered an injury or not and, if so, what type of injury.
