Really enjoyed the game. Fun style of basketball and really fits Memorial Gym.
- McGlockton was ultra impressive. Certainly the MVP after game 1. He’s the ultimate glue guy, but I think that’s selling him short. He also can step out and shoot it and good clip, and I think we see more of that as the year goes on.
- Edwards and Nickel are volume scorers that are going to be really fun to watch. There will be cold nights where these guys frustrate us, but they could go for a combined 45+ any night.
- Carey is a handful. We’re short, but he can hold his own down low, and we’re long at every other position. I think we’ll be fine there. Hopefully the FT shooting improves.
- Scoring 102 points on a less than average shooting night from deep is impressive. Also didn’t get a ton from Collins and Manon on the offensive end, so there’s a lot of room to grow.
- One of the things I’m most excited about is that this team won’t be relying on the same guy every night. There’s multiple players on this team that could be the leading scorer night in and night out, which will be big later in the season.
- Hoggard is going to unlock a ton on offense
