Since top RB target Tre Harbison committed to Virginia, the following are RB targets on the board for Vanderbilt:
Brittain Brown- Vanderbilt is one of the schools that currently lead for Brown. Unlike most other schools, Vanderbilt is recruiting Brown as a running back instead of safety. He wants a Stanford offer and visited there recently, and he lists them along with Duke, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt as his top six. He plans to visit Duke and Georgia Tech before making a decision.
Damarea Crockett- Vanderbilt was one of the first BCS schools to offer Crockett, and he has high interest in the Commodores. He told VandySports.com that he hopes to visit Vanderbilt this month. With Harbison going elswhere, Crockett could shoot up the target board.
Martell Pettaway- Pettaway landed an offer from Vanderbilt last month. He recently named a top three of Iowa, West Virginia, and Western Michigan recently. Vanderbilt will likely turn up the heat on the 3-star back.
Vavae Malepeai- Vanderbilt offered Malepeai this spring, then his recruitment caught fire as he received offers from Michigan, Stanford, and UCLA shortly after. Malepeai has a good relationship with Coach Maile, but he will likely be a tough one to land.
Kwon Williams- Williams landed an offer from the Commodores last year, and he is being recruited as a running back unlike some other schools. He also has offers from Cincinatti, NC State, and Wake Forest.
Vanderbilt will continue to recruit Tre Harbsion who is a good fit in Vanderbilt's offense. We also expect Vanderbilt to extend some new offers to other running back prospects in the future. Someone like a Jesse Brown could be a name to watch in the future.
