Arizona State and 2017 signee Daniel Mading parted ways. Mading, listed at 6-foot-8, 200 pounds originally committed to the Sun Devils after receiving offers from UCONN, Florida, Kansas, and LSU. Mading was born in Sudan, but grew up in Australia. He played at St. Anthony's in New Jersey. Interestingly enough, his high school coach. Bob Hurley Sr., is the father of Arizona State Head Coach, Bobby Hurley.
According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Mading says he is hearing from Cal, UCLA, Indiana, Wake Forest, Providence, and Pitt, as well as the Commodores. He received offers from Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Drexel, and Memphis this past week. Our guy Matt Steinbrink with the Pitt Rivals site, says he is hearing that Mading could attend Huntington Prep next season. The Vanderbilt staff actually watched him play in an AAU event last week.
We will keep our ears to the ground on this one and let you know what we hear.
