I know that was a brutal way to end what had been a very fun season and everyone is quite upset, but I just wanted to say a quick word now that it’s over.
It’s been an absolute blast covering the Vandyboys for y’all. I spent between 18 and 25 hours per week between covering games, researching, writing articles, and posting to the board covering this team on top of being a full-time student (and now a full-time worker). I don’t regret a single second of it. I’ve had such a fun time interacting with everyone, regardless of whether we agreed or didn’t, and continuing the community that has been built on this site.
I also wanted to say thank you, as I know that this was not “traditional“ coverage and very different to what you guys were used to. I’m obviously no pro, but you guys have all been very gracious in allowing me to grow into this role and understanding the constraints both myself and other TDR members are under. Like I’ve said before, it’s only gonna get better from here.
I’m not going anywhere, but I’m letting the rest of the guys take point on basketball and football. Which means you guys won’t be having to deal with me quite as often over the next eight months.
Don’t worry, though, I’ll still handle all of the baseball portal/recruiting stuff and (as I hope yall now have evidence of) nobody has better scoops in the portal scene than TDR.
Once again, thank you all and I’m excited for what the future has in store.
