After careful analysis fueled by a desire to clean the slate before the NCAAT where I think we’ll accumulate even more highlights, I have narrowed down to 10 the top highlights of the season so far.
This was not easy as the Cardiac Commodore Kids have thrilled us since the opening weekend’s first walk-off HR by the new kid on the block, Riley Nelson. What a guy! Between then and yesterday’s total, complete, and devastating beatdown of the thugs in orange and their despicable coach there’s been plenty more that’s happened to make this one of the top fan favorite teams Corbs has every fielded. Not the most talented maybe, but certainly the easiest one to like.
Young guys, old guys, new guys, up-and-coming guys, big guys, little guys, gutsy guys, fast guys, not-as-fast guys, mouthy-guys, quiet-guys, long-haired guys, buzz-cut guys, even a balding guy (Rose), all led by the Yoda-like dad-we-all-wished-we-had-had-but-weren’t-so-lucky-even-though-many-of-us-had-great-dads [Father’s Day is just around the corner; may I suggest a nice pair of candlesticks as an appropriate gift? Scratch that, if you’re lucky enough to still have a dad or dad-like figure around just tell them you love them, I assure you that will plenty enough, especially for a guy who already has everything they need, unless, of course, you’ve yet to gift them the greatest gift of all — grandchildren!))
