Virginia has hired Duke HC Chris Pollard to be their next head coach.
This does have some significance for Vanderbilt. Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Ty Blankmeyer spent 2 seasons prior to this one at Duke and recruited a number of their players there. If they enter the portal without having their sights 100% set on UVa, then this could be a great opportunity for Vanderbilt to swoop in. Beyond the Blankmeyer connection, they wouldn’t have to worry nearly as much about the players’ grades being in order and credits transferring, which has been a major issue in the past.
