I remember reading SC fans saying losses didn't matter during the regular season or even the SEC tournament because all that mattered was the NCAAs. I certainly feel that more now than ever before, for obvious reasons. But right now this team is in danger of not even hosting a regional.

Admittedly this is new territory for Vandy athletics, coming off its first national title in baseball. And baseball, more than any other sport, is one based on randomness and luck that averages out over what is a very, very long season. You can over-react to trouble spots and make mistakes that have even worse and/or unintended negative consequences. If anything, Corbin has become much more patient with changes, and that has probably made him a better coach and someone the kids enjoy playing for even more.

I do certainly believe that they are not far away from being a title contender again. They've been one pitch and one hit (or even just a ball that was hit into the outfield) away from winning a good number of the games they've recently lost. But they need to get things moving this week or they may find themselves in an unrescuable situation down the stretch. VU is now statistically behind Missouri in the East, and just a half game ahead of Florida.

You don't want to press and create more pressure on kids to perform, but at this point do you think Corbin has to do something dramatic with the lineup, and if so what?
