Next year's conference schedule - the same as this year???

The Colorado St thread caused me to stumble across this. I found more than one source stating that every SEC program will play the same SEC opponents next season, but the venues are flipped. So, we will play at Alabama next year? At Texas? At Tennessee? Along with home games against Mizzou and LSU? You got to kidding. Someone please tell me this isn't true.

What about Oklahoma, Miss St, and Florida.

The Gators are as bad as they've been in years, and now we don't get to play them.

I thought the goal was to have Texas and Oklahoma play every SEC team in the first two years of their membership. We play Texas two straight years?

Wow, this really sucks.

88 rushing yards and 7 points !

who would have guessed our defense would completely shut down the rushing attack that put up over 300 yards against uk the week before ? and stymied their leading rusher to the tune of 50 yards, after watching him destroy uk for over 250 yards.
sure they got some yards thru the air, but I think vu’s mission first and foremost was to try to keep hunter from going off as he did in Lexington.
kudos again to CCL and the D which has not only played quite admirably, but actually carried the team on its shoulders at times thru these 6 wins.

Question for Bear

IIRC @Bear8000 was a football ref at one point in addition to being a former player. Here is a question I've had for a long time:

What is the rationale for half the distance to the goal on a penalty? It rewards the team that makes the penalty. If a team near their EZ makes a penalty and the penalty yardage exceeds the yards left, they should take the ball to the 1 inch line or the 1 yard line at minimum.

FB: Curiosity killed the cat

Ever have trouble remembering which 2024 football games are at home and which ones are on the road? Probably not. Too bad, because if by some chance you do forget, it's simple to figure out.

If the opponents are feline, we play them on the road: Panthers, Tigers, Wildcats, Tigers, Tigers(!)

Otherwise we play them at home: Hokies, Braves, Crimson Tide, Cardinals, Longhorns, Gamecocks, Volunteers

By my count those are the only 4 feline SEC members so that is quite a masterpiece of a scheduling easter egg by Birmingham. I should have posted this a few weeks ago when it dawned on me and there were more games left.

Crowd for Saturday - Come on if you’re on the fence!

This is a chance to actually have a home field advantage in an SEC game for the first time in a while.

So far, I have convinced 9 old VU friends to come (I’m including @DoreFan in this group although he was probably coming with or without me (sounds like a U2 Porn title)). This is not to pat myself on the back, I bring this up to say we have fans on the fence so make sure to reach out to old friends and try to convince them to come see Pavia and the boys.

This team deserves a home field advantage for a change.

Last thing, I saw Shane Beamer saying on his interview on the SEC Network this Morning urging Gamecock fans in Nashville. He said he was excited to see a lot of Garnet and Black at the game in Nashville.

Anybody else on the fence? Ask around!

No suit and tie

I am certain that God will forgive me but I won't be wearing a suit and tie to church today. I have several good-looking Vanderbilt polo shirts and I'll pick the best one and proudly wear that. Is everyone else having as much fun this fall being a Vandy fan as I am? I'm sure you are. It has been a great feeling to wear my Vandy gear everywhere and get an "Anchor Down" or "Go Dores" from people I encounter. It has been a thrilling and remarkable season so far and there is more to come. Today it is not just a slogan---it really is Good to be Gold! Anchor Down and beat South Carolina.
