The final game of the Frozen Four (Hockey D1) last weekend was a classic. A first time champion was crowned . . . Quinnipiac (Hamden, CT). The debate has begun, as you will note, as to whether the halo effect from winning a championship will be real or illusory, in particular, recognizing that hockey is not any where near to where football or basketball in terms of popularity at the collegiate level . . . perhaps, closest to college baseball. Quinnipiac, an Indian tribe which lived along the Quinnipiac River which runs through New Haven County in CT, is a private school with about 6,800 undergraduates.
