Dillard visited Vanderbilt earlier this year. He plans to take an official with the Commodores in June. He's been talking to the trio of Coach Black, Haye, and Lea on a consistent basis and says their message to him is "they are a really good developmental program and they'll help him get to the next level."

He also mentioned that Michigan is talking to him about potentially taking an official as well.

Talk around about ncaa big men....

There is talk about a pattern of teams that got in the tournament that were dependant on bigs....like Purdue and others. None of them lasted long in fact and it's been a while since a big played a huge roll in the tournament.

I think we need another big....but won't be disappointed or if we don't get one. If not Dort must have shown alot in practice or they are just not looking for another big...by design....not looking.

Thoughts?

Vanderbilt at UTjr

Let’s go!

Huge series for a lot of reasons but if we can take 2/3 this weekend, we’re shoveling dirt on those boys in Knoxville.

Do we have any idea on rotations for this weekend? @Chris Lee Hopefully Holton is feeling good and ready to go. I noticed he hit 96 on Saturday (seems like good velo for him).

I’m assuming we move on from the weirdest part of college baseball (midweek game upsets) and get fired up to head to Knoxville.

Any thoughts on the series?

Vanderbilt and Tennessee both perform horribly in mid-week losses on Tuesday; does that mean anything coming into this weekend's highly-anticipated series in Knoxville? Chris Lee and Chip Fridrich talk about that series plus, discuss the offensive trends in baseball, some surprises for Vanderbilt at this point in the season, a potential starting lineup change (if one were to happen) and a whole lot more in an hour and a half of baseball talk.

UT suffers 2 injuries Tuesday night.

Looks like Christian Moore, starting second base, left the game and was wearing a boot. He is one of their top offensive threats:

Also, Zach Joyce, brother of the guy who threw 105 last year, left during his appearance with an elbow injury. Sounds pretty serious:

Also all world SS transfer who they illegally recruited from Kansas, Maui Ohuna, has been out for last few games and will probably miss the series this weekend. He has really struggled against SEC. He is hitting .262 with one homer and four RBIs in 11 SEC games. He has struck out a team-high 18 times in only 42 at-bats in SEC play. Maybe we should hope he plays.
