Vandy United

I don’t think I have ever seen the fan base/Vu community so united— my guess is north of 95% believe it is in the best interest of the program and University to move on from Stack.

This is why they CANNOT afford to NOT move on. If they don’t do it, I am not sure if they can recover. I know of so many people who like me, have had season tickets for decades that will not renew if he is back.

Here is to hoping they do the right thing, make a great hire and embark on a marketing campaign to contact ever ticket holder they have lost over the last 20 years.

Oh how we all long for a return of a packed house and Memorial Magic!!

Off topic Court storming...

Not much of a chance of this being an issue for Vanderbilt these days....

Another topic that will probably soon be forgotten....kinda of a social ADD if you know what I mean. Too many things happening and gets easily forgotten quickly.....but here is an idea to squash it....

Make the court storming team forfeit their home game the next year. Say, UTjr beats KY at home and storms the court. The next year they lose their home game vs UK and play twice there or just lose their next home game vs. that team. What if its an odd team that's not home and away....well.... that's rare isn't it...like isn't it usually a rival and an unexpected win....but there has to be another way to punish the school and make the fans feel it......it's so spontaneous, no way the fans wait for the teams to leave the field or court. IDK....just a thought....maybe someone has a better idea.

Basketball Something positive to end this season on...

I'm seeing a scenario that could bring a little joy to this basketball team and fans to end the season. What if LSU wins its next two games (vs MSU and UGA, both at home) and finds itself 16-12 and approaching bubble status coming into next Saturday's game in Nashville?

If that scenario happens, Jordan "NIT" Wright will have a shot to have his career effectively ended back in Memorial Gym. The kid completely screwed over Filet Manjon and Tyrin Lawrence to go to a place that didn't offer him coming out of high school so he could be, "The Guy."

Our team would be so much better had Wright decided to finish what he started, but he chose me once again and it would be so fantastic if Ezra and Tyrin got to send him home with an L.

I know our fans hate Stack so much, some will probably cheer for the LSU players instead of Manjon and Tyrin and the rest of the kids Wright betrayed, but it would be nice if we could all cheer for our team one more time.

Obviously, the ideal scenario is we fire Stack prior to the game so the paranoid fans can cheer for VU too, but Stack is getting fired either way. We are 7-20, and even if we beat LSU, the best we can be is 8-23 to finish his 5th season, which will be plenty enough to have the guy leaving town for good.

Am I the only one that would love to end the traitor's career here in Memorial?

Off topic A request going forward (especially in the coming weeks)

Here are some thoughts that I am hopeful will govern some things on the board in the coming weeks.

I am a big proponent of free speech. What's the point of a message board otherwise? Unpopular and "bad" opinions sometimes turn out to be right at best and at worst, at least serve to be a tool for critical thought or a window into where someone's coming from If you throttle opinion and discussion, less opinion will be offered. Heavy-handed moderation opens one up to charges of this or that and is a headache for reasons you can imagine and some you can't. And my free time is scarce anyway.

I also value everyone's user experience. Whatever belief system or demographic, I truly do not care, you're all my customers and at a time when America has deep divisions, a common interest in a team should bring us together.

So, now what?

I think there is near-unanimous opinion on what should happen next with men's basketball. Again, it is not my job to be the thought police and certainly not my job to protect Vanderbilt, but we all (me included) should be self-aware enough to constantly whether we're littering the universe or making it better. The balance of that is to try to do my job honestly but also try to lower the temperature where I can.

There is still internal disagreement at Vanderbilt on what should happen next. Those opinions seem to be strongly held for reasons I can't always explain. It is what it is. Sometimes people are so dug in that those don't change. Sometimes there are hidden things none of us know about. Constantly yelling about it won't change anything. At worst... well, you've seen that.

For the record, I still believe there will be a change. I can't prove it and I'm not reporting it. But you saw me shift my opinion on Tuesday for a reason and that's not changed.

Let's just get through the next few weeks together as peacefully as possible. The coming weeks probably won't be pretty. I'm not asking anyone to put lipstick on the pig. To not discuss results or the future or whatever, because that defeats the purpose of having a board. But have some balance. And (just my opinion), while it's your right as an American, yelling at the school and its people on social media or email probably doesn't help.

For the record, nobody asked me to post this. It's just an appeal to everyone's better nature that I hope resonates.

God bless you all and thanks for being here.
