Big Up to the OL

The offensive line has played pretty dang well this year IMO. This group has platooned pretty much the whole season and we are top 3 in the league in sacks allowed. I’ve been very impressed with a group that’s clearly well coached and I know there are some folks here that are big on Rossamondo (sp?) but Blazek is doing a great job with these guys. Not saying he isn’t a good coach but I thought the Blazek hire was a really good hire.

Obviously I’m not ignorant to the fact we have a running qb for a portion of the games and that type of thing but we still attempt a good bit of passes although it can be rpo heavy. They’ve held up well in protection when are down big and 12 sacks through 10 games is nothing to flinch at. Especially with Cox, ashmore, Castillo out and Hernandez missing time. I’m excited about this group going forward.

Congrats To Those Who Are Too Dumb To Quit

For those of us that hung in there and still supported the program, who didn't jump ship and become fans of other schools, who kept going to games even when all but the die-hards faded away, this one's for you!

Quitting is just not in my DNA, I'm too dumb/stubborn. I am still mad at my Dad for raising me as a Vandy fan, but one thing's for certain when it comes to the Dores, I just can't quit them!

The W Today Made the Season a Success

4-8 and ending the SEC losing streak was the goal all along for this season. TBH when we lost Capers and it became evident Davis was done for the season I didn’t expect to win an SEC game.

Just not good enough up front. The offensive line has really surprised me with their play and the defense has shown glimpses.

We have a shot next week but the next two matchups are bad ones for us. Regardless today was absolutely huge for Clark and the program to show tangible (& honestly given what we saw last year) fairly impressive growth in year 2.

Wright and Skinner

I've criticized these dudes all year, and they've deserved it. But, those two guys showed up today, and we don't win without them.

Great game, Mike and Quincy!!

Also, Ray Davis, Will Sheppard, and CJ Taylor brought it today! Great game you three.

Also, outside of some late game matador defense on the Rodriguez 72 yard seemingly game clinching TD run, this defense played lights out, SEC defense today. Great game guys!!

Again and again and again the childish drama

It's too early to know about Lea. I consider this season a success even if we get crushed the next two games.

I actually don't think Lea is going to consistently win here, because I don't think he will recruit at SEC level. That takes a really rare person. But he brings a lot of coaching to to the table, and people saying things like "Is Lea worse than Mason" I mean, it's like there are a bunch of children in here. The guy and the team just had the flu this week, what grit. Give him two more years and we will know, not crying in misery or claiming he is the next Saban with ever 2 minute swing.

Nice win. Let's build on it!!

CCL--Trust the Process

Congratulations to CCL, the coaching staff and the players on a great SEC win!! They have worked hard and deserve the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

What a win------after giving up a late TD to lose the lead, the offense drives the field to convert a 4th and 11 big pass play and then scores the winning TD with a perfect pass to #14, the defense then shuts down a last minute drive by KY, they beat a top 25 SEC team on the road, they ended the SEC losing streak and most of all, they responded aggressively to the negativity on this Board.

I hope the posters who said this team would not win an SEC game this year AND next year (you know who you are) will now direct their energy to being supportive and encouraging to the players who have demonstrated that they trust the process and believe in what the coaches are selling. It's a long, hard road to building a competitive football team in the SEC with the program materials CCL inherited, but at least the construction is showing some progress.

If you saw CCL's postgame interview, you could see his emotion and know how dedicated he is to building a competitive program. We all can enjoy this WIN!!

Athletics Nadir

In terms of athletic success this is a historically tough point for our fandom even by Vanderbilt standards. Unless you love baseball it's getting easier and easier to check out.

Chris I can imagine running the site is tough right now but statistically something has gotta turn around soon you'd think. Do you have any hope Diermeier steps in somewhere and makes an AD change after continued failures?
