Reassessing portal needs

Agree with a lot of what @NashNative615 and @baseballbros have said in other threads. Think individually you don’t mind the 6 guys moving on, but the raw amount is not necessarily ideal.
1. With QMB gone, the biggest need is far and away a starting big. A grad transfer is fine as now you can convince Dort he’ll get his 15 minutes a game this upcoming season and could potentially start the next season

2. Really need another good scorer/shooter at the 2-4 spot. Probably don’t want to be having to get 2 starters in the portal every year, but you’ve got to do it this offseason

3. The first two are positions you have to get, this one is a need but much less of a need. Think you need a sixth man wing type. I think Lewis,West, and Dort is a nice bench group, and maybe Roberts can have an Ansong like role at the 4, but they could use a 6’5 or 6’6 guy off the bench who can really shoot and defend

4 and 5. Really don’t need more impact guys beyond the first three spots. Think it would be smart to take a high schooler and maybe a transfer with multiple years of eligibility left that you like. You’re already gonna have to replace Manjon and Lawrence, you’d rather than not get only grad guys and then have to replace a bunch of guys the next year even before people who would leave in the portal

Any truth to this?

I'm listening to the Bill King show on the way to work.

They literally were just talking about the 7'2 Russian center from FAU transfering to Vanderbilt. They were nonchalantly talking about it like it was a done deal.

I hope so! I thought that kid was pretty damn good in the NCAAT. Can score, pass, defend, block shots, and I believe that he's just a Sophomore.

@Chris Lee and @Sean_Williams, @Joey Dwyer what are you hearing??
