The 6-foot-0, 183-pound wide receiver out of Nashville, TN. sat down with
VandySportsDotCom to go in-depth on his interest in the Commodores, revealing how it felt to pick up his first D1 offer from an SEC program.
"It feels kind of surreal to be honest," Higgins said. "I thought my first offer would be from a school like Bethel or UT-Martin. I wasn't expecting my first offer to be from a SEC school. The Commodores have been involved in my recruitment since June 14th."
Higgins said that he connected with Vanderbilt assistant coach and receivers coach
Alex Bailey and liked all of the new techniques he taught.
"I talked to the receivers coach," Higgins said. "And I liked the new techniques he taught me, like how to track deep balls and how to cut on different routes."
Higgins said that he's eager to learn more about the Commodores' program and his planning on stopping by West End for a visit sometime in the future. He added that he's in the process of getting something set up with Vanderbilt and has no other visits scheduled.
"I'm excited to learn more about the Commodores' program," Higgins said. "I'm also very open to learning about other programs as well. I do plan on stopping by for a visit soon."
