Wow, hate we didn’t get the win but this just further solidifies how legit this team is. The fight in these players is something I’ve never seen at Vandy before. Down 21-7 and I was ready to call it, but wow. We still have some surprises left in us this season. I have to imagine the recruits we had on campus had to enjoy this performance as well. Anchor Down!!!

I hate to think that the game can be won/lost at the coin toss, but I really believe VU needs to score first, and thusly needs the ball first. Assuming we win the toss, does VU now have the mentality of accepting the ball, and taking the fight to Texas, or do we defer ?
I havent really paid attention to our coin options the first 7 games .

At the beginning of the year, I’d have had this game at 26k UT fans, 5k Vandy fans.

Now, I’m hoping we get 10k fans. I really want to see some black and gold on the opposing side for this game.

Thoughts?

I’ve been to so many games and always dreamed of a big Vandy crowd, give our boys a real home field advantage. I get the sense that Nashville is embracing Vanderbilt like never before.

So, I’ve posted before about their two starting safeties being out. Also, Isaiah Bond is out. They've had maybe 3 RB's injured. What's scary is that they still have so much talent. A good friend of mine who is a UT fan says they are "decimated by injuries" and their fan base is definitely worried about the Vandy game. This same guy says that, even with Bond out, their WR corps is still sick.

To paraphrase Herb Brooks, we don't have enough talent to win on talent alone. Fortunately, we have Kill, Beck, Pavia, and some nice supporting pieces. I am concerned about a blowout loss, but that's the God-given right of every Vandy fan.

On an unrelated topic, one of my least favorite things is horns down. Cheer for your team, don't do horns down, although I know tons of VU fans and the students will throw up the horns down.

Because of its D line and the pressure they put on the QB . I would love a victory but I can’t see us getting that type of pressure.

Not that he was ever going to make it on campus here or in Knoxville but it the optics hurt to lose the #5 player in the class.

Who won’t play? Who’s playing but compromised?

As you all saw vandy completely redid their student ticketing this week. While we all know that was a good thing they (predictably) weren't prepared for the amount of traffic the site would get this morning. The program crashed for a lot of students and they were unable to get tickets despite waiting in queues for 30+ minutes. If any of you all have extra tickets to the Texas game and want to get it to a student feel free to DM me and I will find a student to connect you with!
