Article: SDS prediction of every SEC teams final record

I hope that they're right about us.

Next year's conference schedule - the same as this year???

The Colorado St thread caused me to stumble across this. I found more than one source stating that every SEC program will play the same SEC opponents next season, but the venues are flipped. So, we will play at Alabama next year? At Texas? At Tennessee? Along with home games against Mizzou and LSU? You got to kidding. Someone please tell me this isn't true.

What about Oklahoma, Miss St, and Florida.

The Gators are as bad as they've been in years, and now we don't get to play them.

I thought the goal was to have Texas and Oklahoma play every SEC team in the first two years of their membership. We play Texas two straight years?

Wow, this really sucks.

Question for Bear

IIRC @Bear8000 was a football ref at one point in addition to being a former player. Here is a question I've had for a long time:

What is the rationale for half the distance to the goal on a penalty? It rewards the team that makes the penalty. If a team near their EZ makes a penalty and the penalty yardage exceeds the yards left, they should take the ball to the 1 inch line or the 1 yard line at minimum.

Ball State, Auburn and Coaching

Ball State beat Northern Illinois. That Northern Illinois.

Auburn is not as bad as their record shows. I really wished they had lost last night as they would implode. We are playing them at a bad time. But we can't control that. They have an athletic team that will try to run on us and hit some deep balls. I can't imagine it will be anything other than a one possession game in the fourth quarter. I'll be there.

There is no doubt the energy and mindset of this team comes from #2. That has bode us well for every game but Georgia State. I fear a let down that will couple with the bumps and bruises the team has. Preparing this week, including putting in plays to stop a 5 2 defensive front (or was it a 3 4 with olbs on the line ?), will be perhaps their most important week that will require the coaches carry water that Pavia has thus far.

Capers

Love this guy, buying his shirt today!!! 2nd half defense was enough to win. This loss is on the offense which I thought I would never say. We can beat anyone left on the schedule but going to be tough. If we beat Auburn this coming week, I can see us possible winning 2 more. If we lose, we may not go bowling. SC is no joke on defense; however, I dont think as good as Texas' defense.

OPENING
We’re disappointed
Congratulations to Texas and Sark
I’ve got a disappointed team. We expected to win. Going to allow them time to hurt
A lot to learn and apply from today
The perimeter tackling was disappointing
Did a good job of creating vertical leverage but didn’t down the ball
They couldn’t get body-on-body on check downs
When we weren’t in the right position they made us pay
Defensively we created some turnovers that were helpful in our calls
Created some disruption
The second half we settled into our identity but it took too long
Credit Texas’s defense. Turning the ball over hurt
You can’t create extra possessions and we fell short of our formula
We learn from this outcome and move forward

4TH AND 2 CALL
The book has them going more aggressively than he would in that spot
If they reset at 4th and 5 its a punt and play defense
Analytics supported the decision which does matter
but the concern is they were so efficient offensively
He believed in the offense’s ability to convert
Decision was all about having the time on the clock to win the game

THE SKINNER CALL
I’m disappointed in it
There’s a conversation to be had
There was a moment to be aggressive
Great play call and executed well
Hate it when officiating gets in the way. That’s not any kind of statement because those guys do what they’re told to do
But wants the conversation about what was the point of emphasis
“That play is not affected by Quincy Skinner’s shoulders.”
