All day yesterday I was thinking of the very distinct possibility of Coach Byrd retiring and the fact that I may had just seen him coach his final game (some of you know how dear that program is to me, yesterday involved a lot of processing).
Most of you also may recall that I have been one of the voices calling for Vandy to move on from CBD for quite some time.
For the last couple of hours I have been thinking about the potential of Vandy getting a legit P5 coach in the program and rebuilding the program I have loved for 35 years and CBD moving a couple of miles down the road to lead the program that I have loved for 25 years. I am surprised at how much the idea warms my heart.
I have been saying for quite sometime that I like CBD, I just didn't think he was a fit for Vandy. I actually think he would be an amazing fit for Belmont. Win-Win-Win for Vandy, Belmont, and CBD.
