Auburn 9-24. VU 3-18. VU rebounded plenty well enough to win which was a big worry going in n. Kudos to Glock and Carey. I mean they had more rebounds and doubled Auburns on the offensive boards.
I’ve said several times how important in today college game 3 point shooting is.
Now was the above because Auburn has better shooters, or was it because Auburn guarded the 3 better, or a combination is the question.
Really VU wasted probably their best rebounding game considering the opponent and 13-14 from the FT line all due to their 3 point shooting. VU is just too small vs a team like Auburn to expect them to be able to defend the paint really well vs an Auburn team for 40 minutes. They had to be able to have at least a somewhat decent game from 3 and they had a clunker.
