New Future #VandyBoys
Two new commits for Travis and Co with 2018 Ohio RHP Austin Becker (#55 Overall, #18 RHP) and 2019 Florida OF Ryan Keenan (too early for rankings).
Becker is a big kid (6'5") who projects to be a power RHP out of Big Walnut High (seriously... great name) in Ohio. He picked Vandy over Louisville and Clemson.
Keenan is a little more under the radar, but it sounds like he projects a bit like a Mike Yaz type (does everything well, without any truly standout tools). Getting an offer this early means he definitely impressed Travis and/or Corbs. He had interest in Duke, Stanford and Florida and apparently really impressed at PG's National Underclass showcase two weeks ago.
With the commits, VU now has two 2019 commits (Keenan and Mater Dei HS LHP Tony Jacob) and twelve 2018 commits. Each 2018 commit is among PG's top 168 overall, and 10 are in the top 89. Among 2018 prospects, Vanderbilt and Florida now have a combined 17 of the top 89 committed, and 20 of the top 176. Scary good.
