Just venting a little, so thank you for listening.
Workwise, I've been slammed for weeks and haven't had the time to keep up with Vandy's bowl projections. I've watched the Vandy games and kept up with the rest of the conference. However, I didn't realize Oklahoma and Florida...and possibly Auburn...might squeeze Vandy out of the typical SEC bowl line-up.
I was looking forward to taking my boys to their first bowl game and my first bowl in a decade. Unfortunately, the current bowl projections make it almost impossible for us to go:
Gasparilla Bowl & Cure Bowl - Both games are December 20th and in Florida, which would normally be great. This year, my family's Christmas is December 21st. This is the first year we've celebrated Christmas this early...so...yeah.
First Responder Bowl - January 3rd; Dallas. We take our kids to Pigeon Forge January 2nd. It will be our fourth trip to that area since 2023. I don't mind going there when the weather is nice, but I'd much rather go to Dallas for 3-4 days.
Armed Forces Bowl (Ft Worth) & Birmingham Bowl - Both games are December 27th, and I can definitely go to Birmingham, but a trip to Ft Worth would be a problem. Some family will still be in town on the 26th, forcing me to fly into Dallas the morning of the game. That might also mean the boys stay home to spend time with the family.
Oh well, I have no control over any of this. Now matter what, I'll still be able to watch the game on TV and I hope all of you all can go.
