We’re on a 6 game win streak, all SEC games.
Looking at the stats for just those 6 games our team BA is up about 20 points and team ERA is about the same as before. Most other stats are similar to the full SEC season.
But there are some incredible differences.
1. Hitting with RISP. As a team, we’re .400 which is remarkable. Even more remarkable is that it’s not just one guy contributing, although Austin has been phenomenal.

That’s a lot of different guys getting a lot of clutch hits.
2. Power. In this 6 game stretch we’ve hit 11 HRs and 11 doubles. Combined, that’s 40% of all our hits which is way above our full season SEC stats.
3. Getting on base. Team OBP is .372. Even better, we have 5 starters at .400 or higher — Holcomb, Rigdon, Austin, Riley, Vastine — and another at .389, Barczi.
4. Starting pitching. As a team this has not been good with an ERA of 7.32, really thrown off by Nye’s game against Kentucky. Without him, the ERA is 5.68. But that’s still much higher than the overall SEC ERA.
Our best starter has been Fennell; Bowker the worst (except for Nye.). Even JD has been worse overall in those games compared to his full season SEC stats. He did, however, pitch remarkably well on Thursday.
5. Relief pitching. In these 6 games the bullpen ERA is only 3.28. There are 4 guys with an ERA of 0.00 — Guth, Bryan, Miller, Seiber. Huesman’s ERA is 2.08 and Hawks 2.84. Those are all outstanding. This is the #1 strength of our team.
The biggest overall take-away is that everybody is contributing up and down the line-up. Some games the top of the lineup has carried; others, the middle of the order; others, the lower end.
Keep all that up and there’s no telling how far we can go.
