I caught up with Germantown (Tenn.) wide receiver target Jaylin Williams, who recently made a trip to Vanderbilt a couple of weekends ago.

ON VANDERBILT: "I really liked Vanderbilt, the coaches and the vibe. It's close to home which is great and it's a great balance between football and education. I felt a great connection with the coaches."

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect also got a chance to talk with Cortez Hankton (his main recruiting contact) and Derek Mason during his visit to West End.

"I like Coach Hankton a lot. We have a really good relationship. He keeps it 100!"

Williams has a dozen offers, but there are whispers that Ole Miss and Vanderbilt are his top two schools due to location and being close to home.

The in-state prospect didn't confirm those rumors, but stated, "they are both up there for sure."

He also told me he doesn't have any visits planned for the summer as of right now, so things can always change.
