TLDR: I don't care that he left. Not a huge loss of human capital. I am excited about our additions.

Hello everyone,

Carey committed to our greatest enemy and had some choice words for us on his way out. My opinion is this: I don't care. Back during my era, I may have felt a type of way. I will not bore you with a long discussion of how everything is transactional now. It is like saying the sky is blue - everyone knows that. The main reason that I do not care is that I do not see his departure as a devastating loss. Sure, he headbutted the pad under the basket and brought some energy, but a 6'8 player with Dwight Howard's skill set is not something that can take this team farther than it went last year. He is not particularly fast, cannot defend a high ball screen when he switches on a guard, and cannot shoot. I am not saying he is without value. He did some wonderful things in rebounding, defense, and getting tough buckets on offense. But, in my opinion, he is not worth getting all up in arms about. If he starts for UT, that is a good sign for us. We have Glock, who plays the same position as Carey, and I truly believe Glock is a standard deviation better than Carey - especially in our offense. Vandy has money now. We got 2 6'10+ transfers with experience and another 6'11 freshman coming in. I have never said this in the history of my fandom as a VU fan, but in this situation, we aren't rebuilding. We are reloading. The DOW and S&P are crashing, but the Vandy stock is rising. Buy now.
