At this point the team isn’t working in its current roles. If we want to expect different results, my 2 cents is that we need to shake some things up. This starts with the rotation
Overwhelmingly, Little and Reilly have been strong in their appearances. Coming into the year, we all expected these guys to pitch on Friday and Saturday and they are undoubtedly our two most talented arms.
Why not go with a rotation of Mcelvain Little Reilly.. use Holton out of the pen as a multi inning weapon. With him being a freshman, we can’t expect him to get stronger as the season progresses but he can probably still give you 2-3 innings of high performance in any given series. This team doesn’t look like it’s suddenly going to hammer teams with its offense, so why not put our most talented pitchers out there as starters and hope they can silence opposing lineups and play low scoring games.
