I’m as mad and disappointed as everyone else was on Saturday night. This team needs to stop feeling sorry for itself and turn the page. Former LSU coach Skip Bertman used to have a miniature toilet in the dugout. After a bad loss, he would flush it. Following that metaphor, that’s exactly what this Vanderbilt football team needs to do.
This team has a tall task ahead in conference play. That said, Missouri is a good team, but struggled with Boston College for much of that game on Saturday. I think Vandy has better skill players on offense than Boston College does and I think Pavia is a better decision maker than Castellanos. CCL is not in a position to pull punches. This is not a time to throw checkdowns and punt. I want to see Kill and Beck let the offense loose on Saturday and for CCL to put his defensive players in a position to succeed. Missouri will be a great challenge on Saturday and will teach us a lot about where this team really is
