I was not a fan of the implementation of NIL. But, as a long time Vanderbilt Alumni Fan, I have watched the development of NIL throughout the last couple of seasons and have come to this conclusion. NIL is going to bring more parity to the game. This is a good and bad thing for me to accept. The once dominant Vanderbilt Baseball team has become just a decent team. Our Football and Basketball Teams have dramatically improved, basically because they were so down in the dumps, that NIL lifted them both up.
So NIL is going to make Vandy competitive in all 3 sports, but it is going to be very difficult for ONE team to become dominant, year after year. Overall it's a win for Vandy because we have a much better Football and Basketball Team, but it may be much more difficult for Vandy Baseball to become that 2014-2022 best in history type of team again.
