The Nashville Tennessean announced today it will not have next day coverage of games ending after 6pm because of the move of printing the paper to Knoxville. Coverage of Vanderbilt has been dwindling over the last few years to being two days later coverage anyway, with the exception of some truly good in-depth pieces by Rexrode and Sparks.
I grew up at a time where reading the Tennessean in the morning and the columns by John Bibb and the Banner in the afternoon with the columns by Fred Russell, plus all the articles on Vandy and Tennessee (just to keep up with the enemy) were required reading. Even in this day and age, I enjoyed reading the Tennessean sports page each morning with my coffee. Now, I just have to accept print coverage of sporting events is dead. While I have accessed sports coverage in many different forms/options on the internet, I hate that print media is basically dead and has been for many years.
