We've had a question recently on the board about Vanderbilt's next potential commitment to the 2017 class. Honestly, it could be a number of guys that we've recently talked to and they are all defensive backs. Some names to keep an eye on that could possibly pop to Vanderbilt soon are:
- J.R. Pace, S, Woodward Academy (Ga.)
- Yusuf Corker, CB, Woodland (Ga.)
- AJ Harris, S, Bob Jones (Ala.)
- Randall Haynie, CB, Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.)
- Rodney Owens, S, Ensworth (Tenn.)
Speaking of Rodney Owens, he is a part of the National Playmakers Academy (or NPA) here in Nashville. A majority of that group are scheduled to visit Vanderbilt on March 19th. That group includes a load of Vanderbilt targets that includes Owens and the likes of:
- Obinna Eze, OT, Davidson Academy
- Jacoby Stevens, S, Oakland
- Max Wray, 2018 OT, Franklin
- Landon Guidry, DB, Independence
- Joeseph Sewell, FB/TE, Blackman
- Ty Chandler, RB, MBA
- Princeton Fant, WR, LaVergne
- Jacob Phillips, LB, East Nashville
- LaTrell Bumphus, LB, Hardin Co.
As Justin noted earlier, St. Paul's (Ala.) 4-star defensive end Ryan Johnson is visiting Vanderbilt today. Current 2017 running back commit Lamont Atkins visited on Friday and Saturday. We are hoping to get recaps from both in the next day or so.
