This is not a blame-Shurmer post. I was just re-watching parts of the game and there was a third down fairly early in the game where the play broke down I'm Shurmur had to scramble. He had an alley and you could drive two cars through. I think we needed 7 yards for a first down and got about six.
I was a little shocked at the lack of athleticism from him on that play. I know he's not a runner but I thought he had more speed then he showed.
Like I said I'm not putting blame on him for the game we had a lot of problems in every phase of the game. It was one of many missed opportunities that stood out - just like Pinckney should've made a critical third down catch that would've been the first.
