SEC teams went 9-4.
Biggest loser continues to be Ole Miss, falling to #4 seed Murray State.
Several #2 seeds lost — Florida and Bama.
One #3 seed lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 9th — Kentucky. Their one-run loss woes continue. If only they had a dependable bullpen they coulda been a contenda.
Ole Miss’ problem is they have to play a pretty good Western KY team.
UK should stay alive by beating SC Upstate. [perfect name for a nobody school in a nobody state; apologies to all the Palmetto State products out there but there’s a reason you left, right?]
Florida should easily dispense with Fairfield, nobody even knows where that is except Fair Fielders like UTjr’s left-fielder and Dean Curley at 2nd base [Tony keeps running out of places to hide him — I suggest DH.]
Bama will have their hands full with regional host So Miss. I do like So Miss better than Ole Miss, but that’s not saying much. It’s a God-awful state for reasons too numerous to mention, although I do like their stately old homes.
My fearless prediction is that the SEC goes 11-2 today.
I’m sure you would like to know to know who those 2 teams will be but I’m not telling. Mainly because IDK. But one of them may surprise you and you might be happy about it.
Keep your fingers crossed.
