Of course everyone is already aware the Dores took the series from Georgia 2-1, culminating in a big 15-1 win yesterday
(game ended early due to Mercy Rule provisions and terms of surrender signed by both Corbs and former-Georgia coach Scott Strickland -- he was met at the bus station in Athens by the AD and handed his walking papers, I've heard, but have yet to confirm with my Dawg Source, Ugga. Ugga can't speak, of course, but we have worked out a Blinking System that allows him to answer Junior's yes/no questions. It's sort of like the game 20 Questions with the exception being one participant is a dog.)
Equally exciting results transpired around the league with the other clashes.
Alabama, who previously was tied with the Dores atop the SEC at 6-0, entertained arch-rival Auburn.
.Auburn put them in their place, however, much like they often do in the Iron Bowl, by sweeping the Crimson Tide in 3 high-scoring games culminating with 22 total home runs. The air was warm and the ball was hopping off the bats.
This, of course, is good news for Vandy, but does change things with respect to the SEC race as Auburn is now 7-2 overall and Alabama drops to 6-3.
But, at 8-1, we hope the Dores are now on top all by themselves.
Unfortunately, we won't know what happened elsewhere until the results of the other series are delivered by Pony Express to Junior's mailbox. The PE rider will merely deposit the envelope in his mailbox, ride off, at which point Junior will approach the mailbox in his Haz-Mat Suit and decontaminate the envelope. The virus can live up to 6 hours on inanimate surfaces so you'll have to wait a bit to get the other results.
