We've seen the offensive numbers from when Mason had Ludwig and when he didn't. Bruno has also hinted that it was night and day between him and the other OCs he played for.
Rutgers is in year 4 of Greg Schiano 2.0, but it's year 1 with new OC Kirk Ciarocca who has been OC at Western Michigan, Minnesota, and Penn State. Greg gave Sean Gleason who'd had success at Princeton and Oklahoma St the boot after 3 mediocre years (sound familiar to some recent rumblings?). Anyways, it looks like bringing in a seasoned Big 10 OC is already paying dividends for RU.
Coordinators matter. I'm sure lots of ppl can talk and understand Xs and Os. The best though can apparently go beyond that and comprehensively implement their systems.
