The returning gold medalists named to the U19 squad include:Isaiah Briscoe(Roselle Catholic H.S./Union, N.J.);Jalen Brunson(Stevenson H.S./Lincolnshire, Ill.);Terrance Ferguson(Homeschooled/Dallas, Texas);Harry Giles(Wesleyan Christian Academy/Winston-Salem, N.C.);Josh Jackson(Prolific Prep, Calif./Southfield, Mich.);Caleb Swanigan(Homestead H.S./Fort Wayne, Ind.);Jayson Tatum(Chaminade College Prep/St. Louis, Mo.) andAllonzo Trier(Findlay Prep, Nev./Seattle, Wash.).
Also selected for the USA U19 Team were:Jawun Evans(Kimball H.S./Dallas, Texas);Chinanu Onauku(Louisville/Lanham, Md.);L.J. Peak(Georgetown/Gaffney, S.C.); andThomas Welsh(UCLA/Redondo Beach, Calif.).

The selection committee appeared to favor graduating high school players over players who completed their initial season of college, e.g., NOT SELECTED: LaChance, Edwards (Purdue), Bibbs (Virginia Tech), Chapman (Utah) versus Peak, Onauku and Welsh = SELECTED.

While I could state that Riley can take out his frustration on Matt Painter's Purdue team again this upcoming season as Painter was part of the selection committee, however, his own player, Vince Edwards, also was not selected.

Further, Riley now has a chance to bond all summer with his VU teammates.
