It is with great sadness that I read that Rivergate Mall will be demolished and replace with a mixed-use development.
As a parent, I have fond memories of our little rug rats running about safely under our watchful eye on cold, winter days.
And, later, enjoying a relaxing neck and back rub from the Chinese guys after I had become exhausted at the Radio Shack store having spent hours perusing their many fine gadgets.
And who can forget the Sears store where I bought more power tools and equipment than any man could possibly use in 2 lifetimes.
Progress sucks. Now I have to drive to Hendersonville to find a mall; but it will never rival Rivergate.
