1) Officiating is an atrocity. Not enough time to go into it.
2) I think Shurmur is going to be the man. I was quit upset when Johnny came in in the first half, but I thought we needed to do some different things in the second half. We needed to keep the ground game going, and they were stopping a couple of the plays that were working in the first half. I would not have thrown the ball as much with Johnny as they did. He got away with one dangerous pass, but he was generally pretty good. On the play where he broke free running the ball, I didn't understand why he didn't go north and south at the end. He made a heroic effort to get to the sideline, but if he had turned it up he might have scored.
3) Glad to see Landon Stokes play well. His sack was one of the biggest plays of the game.
4) We are not playing a whole lot of guys at linebacker, and Weatherly in particular looked gased at the end.
5) Congrats to Herring. On the one play where their QB almost got decapitated, watch that on the highlights on vucommodores.com. I didn't see it well during the game, but Darreon absolutely obliterated a blocker and then clotheslined the QB. That may be the best defensive play I have ever seen one of our guys make.
6) As far as LB's that need to play, I would like to see Smith, play more, especially when they are one dimensional and just throwing the ball. And Blasingame. Lost in first play fiasco was what an incredible play that was by Blasingame.
7) Not to talk more about officiating, but on the play where ultimately the QB's knee was ruled down, shouldn't there be some sort of run-off.
